converting .ram file

hey I have a MKV file. it will only play audio in VLC. after doing a little research I downladed Imkvextract and was able to seperate the MKV file into a video and audio. However the video is in .ram format, which will now play in my realplayer, but without sound because the audio is seperate now. the MKv won't play in realplayer either. so I was hoping to convert the .ram file to something QT friendly then muxing the audio back in. Does anyone know any software that will convert .ram file for mac? preferably free.

I tried using the info from that link, but a few little problems

the instructions mention that the content file will have 14 files, mine only has 12.
also my realvideo is .ram and when I try putting that in ffmpegx it says Can't get text item 2 of "Binary file (standard input) matches". (-1728)

now the instructions say to have a .rm file. I'm not sure exactly how to get my .ram to .rm, so I tried just renaming the extension to .rm. this time it seems to work but ffmpegx takes only about 10secs to finish and it produces and empty file..

any suggestions?
