Apple Watch iPhone app will not open

Hi all, I have just recently got an iPhone 8, an upgrade from my iPhone 6s. I have downloaded all apps and they work fine, however my Apple Watch app keeps crashing, meaning that I cannot pair my two devices.

I have so far tried to delete and restore the watch app - no luck.

I have signed in and out of icloud - no luck.

I have tried a factory reset on the watch and my iPhone - again, no luck.

I am unsure what else I can possibly try to do. Any help would be appreciated

You tried the obvious fixes like reboot and reset, so the next stage is Contact Apple Support and consult the paid staff techs. They might be able to advise over the phone, or you could arrange a Genius Bar appointment for face to face support.

You need the Apple techs for sure. My guess is start on the web link to setup a support call, I usually go for the option where Apple will call you back. If they can’t fix it over the phone they will probably suggest a visit to the nearest Apple store.
