How to find ipad through ip address

I am unsure if I have misplaced my IPad air 2 or if It has been stolen but now when I try to search on find my iphone (ipad) threw icloud it doesn't show any devices connected with it. I honestly have no info on the iPad other than the make and model and also the IP Address as well as my appleid i had loged into it before obviously . So basically my question is how can I search for my iPad with an ip address or what other ways can I successfully search for it and locate it. I think some one might of logged me off and factory reset the iPad so that I couldn't find it.
