45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter replacement program?

My MacBook Air 13" (early 2014) has a very frayed cable at the mag safe end. I heard that Apple had offered a replacement program for this

45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter

Does anyone know if I take this adapter and my computer into an Apple Store - will they offer me a free replacement?

Thanks,

Thank you. This is the original power adapter. The computer is out of warranty but is there a chance Apple will replace it no charge?

One Apple article states the following:

Whether or not your adapter is still covered under warranty, you can take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store for evaluation. You don't need to take your Mac, but you should bring your computer's serial number.

The Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store will provide you with your service options after assessing your adapter. Make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Store. (Not available in all countries and regions.)

For more information on properly disconnecting the MagSafe power adapter, see Using and maintaining your Apple MagSafe Adapter.

Leads me to believe that Apple might be willing to replace the power adapter for free!
