Same here. It is a known issue that affects some iPhone 7 models. While Apple didn’t offer an official explanation, I’ve spoken to Apple employees who told me that the software update appears to cause a hardware malfunction that greys out the speaker button. For two months, Apple was overriding the service fee to fix this issue that is caused by updating the iOS. They inexplicably stopped covering it and will now deny that the issue exists and deny that they ever paid for it. Extremely frustrating. My kids were trying to call me from camp, and I couldn’t answer the call or call back, for example... you can see why this is a very bad but to have. if you have this issue, contact Apple and let them know. They can’t continue to deny their customers. It’s consumer fraud.
