Microphone not working on calls

My microphone works when on speaker or using apps to talk like Facebook messenger or WhatsApp but if I make a regular call it's static and the other person can't hear my voice. Any fixes to this issue? I have reset the phone and turned the voice cancel off and checked microphone settings.
