Is there a single code or an on-use-issued one?

The AirPlay password can be switched off or on, auto-generated-6-digit or custom. The auto-generated password will change each time it is turned off and on again.

As long as both your devices are connected to the same iCloud account, the code should appear on your Apple TV.
