Here is a guide regarding the red indicator : Liquid damage to iPhone or iPod isn't covered by warranty - Apple Support

Which only lights up if there is significant water damage to your phone.

Now if there is no red light present, then your phone is fine just make sure to try it up before using

Hope this helps you

Good Luck.

So if the water indicator has not turned red or pink then the phone has not been damaged inside with water or liquid? How does the indicator know if water or moisture has gotten in at the top or bottom of the phone, I know the indicator is in the Sim card tray so what happens if you got something inside at the top or bottom of the phone?
