What is causing message “Turning off Bluetooth until tomorrow?

I was trying to figure out why my iPhone 6s wouldn’t sync today with truck’s BT as it normally does automatically. Went to check BT status in Settings and got this message. What? Then it showed it was synced with truck but still wouldn’t pass navigation guidance from Google Maps over the BT. Then tried to make a phone call and audio came through on phone speaker only? Whatever happened to, “It just works”?
