Boot into Recovery Mode and run Disk Utility > First Aid. If it reports errors run it until it either reports no errors or it reports the disk could not be fixed.

What exactly does "...not working as expected" mean?
This drive has a hardware problem that can’t be repaired.
Back up as much ot the data as possible and replace the disk. See an authorised apple dealer.
Do as indicated. Back up your data and take your computer to an authorized service center.
