Recently mission control in High Sierra OS changed

Recently mission control in my High Sierra OS changed from spreading out the open windows on my desktop to causing all the windows to vanish. This happens no mater if I activate Mission Control with Hot Corners or with the F3 key or double tapping the mouse.

I would like to restore the original function if possible.

Hi,

Check in System Preferences [alt (⌥) F2] -> Mission Control if the option 'Group windows by application' is well toggled "on". While you are here, see what options are matching the best your requirements.

Well that is interesting, It does show me all the the open windows but they are teeny tiny. I think the tI can live with that.
