drag and drop calendar events

Hi

I now have ios11

I am frustrated with the calendar feature, where I have an event in my calendar, prior to ios11, I could hold down on that event and drag it to a new time or day without having to open and edit the event.

Now when i go to drag the event, it more often than not opens as an event needing editing, and will only sometimes randomly allow me just to drag and drop it without opening it.

How do i change the settings or master the drag and drop without it opening for editing

If I understand your post correctly, you are trying to edit events in Calendar on your iPhone by dragging them to a new time. This is a great easy way to edit events. I'd like to help.
You can use these steps to edit an event:

Adjust an event. Touch and hold the event, then drag it to a new time, or adjust the grab points.

Ask Siri. Say something like: “Reschedule my appointment with Chris to next Monday at 9 a.m.”
