dsl cable with macbook

an Ethernet cable, which your dsl provider should provide with the modem.

if you want to go wireless, just buy a wireless router.

i use the linksys wrt54g.

if you have a c2d macbook, you can use an "N" router, which is faster than G.

If you get an 'N' Router - try enabling your MacBook with the 'N' enabler - it should make quite a difference I believe

if you buy the apple airport express, the n enabler will come with it.

if you buy an n router from another company, you will have to buy the n enabler for 2 bucks.

this is all only if you want to be wireless.

Only if you want to be wireless to te n standard....
G-standard users don't have to do this...

Be aware that using an "N" router will not increase your download speed. Currently, DSL usually only runs at about 6 Mb/s which is way lower than even the "G" standard of 54Mb/s. The only place you see the increase in bandwidth of up to 54 Mb/s on the G is between computers on YOUR internal home network. Download from the internet is not affected by the N or G speeds.
