As long as the app supports it and the orientation is unlocked, just turn the phone sideways. If you see a lock icon in the upper right, orientation is locked.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the control center and tap on the padlock icon in order to unlock the orientation. Tap the arrow at the top of the screen to remove the control center from the screen.
