My apps keep crashing randomely while doing a save?

My main applications Adobe (CS1), Quark (6.5) Office 2004 & Macromedia (Flash MX) will run then right when I'm about to save at a critical moment they crash. They restart fine but with loss of work or to the point where I was last able to save. Is this an issue because of the Intel & Power PC compatibility with the software? Do I need to upgrade my software? Or is this a result of migrating my user info from another machine to this one?
