Increased data usage after 11.4.1 install

Since upgrading to 11.4.1 on our iPhones, our data usage has skyrocketed On all our phones. In doing a search, others are reporting this as well. Will this be fixed soon or can we get rid of 11.4.1?

I've noticed this too. To be more specific just in the past day I've used .5 GB of "Time & Location" data, and I've done nothing differently with phone usage than normal. I have 11 days left in my monthly data plan (not unlimited), and of the 10.3 GB total usage, 4.2 GB is Time & Location.User uploaded file

Good morning Zapfogldorf1997,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you would like to control the amount of data usage on your iPhone. You can adjust your preferences in the Settings app.
You can turn the cellular data usage off completely by tapping Settings > Cellular and disabling Cellular data.
On that same screen, choose your preference for "Enable LTE" to Voice & Data or Off and make sure Roaming is turned "Off"
In the CELLULAR DATA secion, you will see a list of all of your installed apps. Disable cellular data for all but the apps that you absolutely need.
Underneath the list of apps, turn of "Wi-Fi" Assist if it is enabled.
For more information about cellular data, click on the resources below:

Take care.

Nope, not what I’m saying. I know how to control it. What I’m saying is something changed when the update happened that is causing a data draw on our phones and we are using data faster than we ever have. My husband typically uses 2gig per month. Since doing the update he is using 2gig/day with no change in how he uses the phone. Only difference is the update as the data started to drastically increase the day after it did it

This answer is no help at all.

Since the last update my mobile data usage has increased pheonomally.

In the last 13 days I have used 2.5gb of data when my average monthly use is 1.5gb.

I have not changed any settings, and I don’t want to have to change settings every time apple issues an update.

Why is it that when Apple bring out updates, frequently there are problems?

Why can’t Apple test these updates before issuing them?

Why doesn’t Apple warn us that updates we are downloading and installing will increase our data usage?

Why is Apple customer support so poor?

I have the same exact problem. I ALWAYS use 500MB per month. Since the Update I used 2GB in July since the 19th that the update happened and This month I am already past my 2GB with 10 days left in the cycle. My battery life is also terrible and I had to charge a couple times a day

I then noticed that a majority of the use was going for Time and Location almost 1 GB! So I went in yesterday and changed most all of the location to off ( most were for while in use but a few were always) I also killed most of my Notifications since that seems to be a huge data suck. I also saw some Data uses when I was home so is the phone dropping wifi?

Since I made the change two days ago, the data usage is down and battery life is up. BUT I NEVER changed thise settings, In fact didn't even know they were there till now.
