Your watch is overheating (or thinks it is overheating). This should not happen in normal use and you don’t mention working in high temperatures or the watch getting hot. Contact Apple Support and arrange to get your watch checked by Apple.
I have a red thermometer sign on my watch. I have tried resetting it, letting it sit on the charger, and still will not turn on.
