iPad Video Format/Safari

Hi all ,

is there a way to Play Videos on my iPad in Safari? The Videos are taken with the same iPad (Format: .mov) so i think its strange that the Format Apple uses to store videos cannot be played in Safari on the same device.

The File is working fine on other OS/Browsers e.g. Chrome/FF on a WIN machine.

Is there some kind of workaround except convert the Video to another Format?

Thanks in advance for your Input,

Michael

Stored videos in iPad do not display on the browser, and you cannot change which application to use to see the videos. That's what the Videos app is for. You can stream with Safari (i.e.: the video will play in the browser) if the format is supported and there is no default app for that (e.g.: Youtube videos will open the Youtube app if you have it installed).

And in case any format is not supported, you can use third party apps available in the App Store like AV Player.

Supported video and audio formats can be found in the Technical Specifications: iPad - Compare iPad Models - Apple
