Mac Thunderbolt Display Brightness Control

I still use a Thunderbolt Display and a MacBoo Pro, love the display. Why they quit making these is a mystery.

An odd thing reoccurs periodically when trying to adjust the brightness of the Thunderbolt Display via the wireless BT keyboard I use. The F1 and F2 keys produce the slider on the TBD screen - but nothing changes brightness wise. Opening the lid on the MBP and the sliders work on that screen, but have no effect on the TBD.

I read a lot of tips on what might be wrong and order of operations to problem solve this. But, here is what I did to fix it, and there was no need for PRAM reset.

1. Open the laptop and with the screen on - disconnect the thunderbolt port and the power supply coming from the TBD. Plug them both back in and fixed, and I am not sure the order of operations is important.

No clue what causes this but it's likely a matter of being plugged in 24/7 and sleeping/wake function.

Anyway - I hope this helps some 'old-timers' like me that get weird when s*&t doesn't work. 🙂
