Reinstall OS X Yosemite - MacBook Air (early 2015)

Hello,

I erased Macintosh HD I tried to reinstall OS X Yosemite and after signing in to the App Store pops up a message saying “This item is temporarily unavailable try again later”. I’ve been trying the whole day with no success and the same message pops up. Also tried to change the password on iTunes but it didn’t help either. Any ideas on how to solve it?

Thank you!

Have you ever downloaded Yosemite using your Apple ID? If not, that will cause that error message.

Try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. This will install the newest OS that the computer is compatible with. When the computer restarts, you can use Setup Assistant to restore your data from Time Machine.
