The reason that I asked my question is that Face ID "learns" as we use it. If it encounters difficulty, and requires you to use the passcode, it will remember differences, such as glasses, hats, etc. With twins, if you set it up and your identical twin is very close to your appearance, if it didn't unlock with Face ID, and she used the passcode while looking at the device, Face ID can "learn" the subtle differences and then allow that change. It wouldn't work with major differences, but this can explain very subtle changes.
Which senior executive were you talking to?
This is from an article The Verge published when the iPhone X was released:
"Then there’s the impostor problem. Phil Schiller joked about evil twins (specifically Evil Spock) at the keynote, but Apple clearly takes the problem seriously, recommending against Face ID use if you’re worried about someone with your facial features accessing your phone."

You can read the article yourself and it will mention the 1 in 1 million for the general populating but note that twins entirely change this number. You can also watch Mr. Schiller, a senior Vice President giving the keynote.
A question: Did you hand her the iPhone while she was facing you and she opened it and then read something in your iPhone? Because if she is standing beside you it is reading you. If she hands it to you it opens when you look at it.
When Apple announced the iPhone X they made it clear that it would open with the face of an identical twin (they did not say it was 1 to 1 million) and hoped that no one had an evil twin.
Yes, it’s my phone I set up the Face ID for me. She wants around. She loves 1 hour away. She ce to visit and wanted to see if it works. It unlocked with her face with no problems. She doesn’t know my passcode for my phone.
Well I have read they Apple support send to me by Apple and yes it has that comment on it. According to rep I spoke with. My case is the first one they have heard off. Am not complaining just asking if any one has had that experience?
Let me see if I got this correctly, you purchased the phone, you set up Face ID for yourself. Then your identical twin picked up the locked phone, swiped up and the phone unlocked from Face ID without any additional interaction from you or your twin? Was this the first time that your twin ever handled the phone, or had your twin tried to unlock with Face ID and then use the passcode once, then tried Face ID again?
Once again not complaining, just wondering. Yes is not a big deal at all. Only when it comes to bank accounts, or other person thing you don’t want family members to be aware off. Yes isn’t a big deal, just trying to know if any one else has experience that!
Yes I have read all of. It’s just a simple question. Just wondering if anyone else has experience that. Not complaining at all about it, but like I said when I spoke to the two Apple reps, I am the only case they had heard off. They will investigate and will call me back Sunday afternoon.
Ps- I have been speaking with Warren from Apple. He has been great. Has called me few time about this. And again don’t have a problem with the phone opening up with my twin sister face. Just working with him to figure out way to keep it save, not a issue with me. He’s also very interested on how it’s works and helping them figure out what else can they improve for that not to happen.
read the section right after the red boxed section.
I will get all the answer on Sunday afternoon when he calls me back. Guys just a question? Not mad about it. I just think is funny and am curiy
We've had reports of siblings (not twins) unlocking a face ID.
Even those of a different sex.
Not a big deal.
No, she can open the phone with her face without me been in the room.
