Which is the difference between MagSafe and MagSafe 2 power adapter ?

The difference between the two is the connector at the end of the charger. MagSafe 2 came out when the MacBook Pro got thinner in 2012. The MagSafe 2 connector needed to be thinner to fit the size of the thinner MacBook body. Both MagSafe 1 and 2 connect and function exactly the same.
