Keyboard needs to be repositioned on my iPad screen

When I attempt to write anything, my keyboard has suddenly decided to position itself in the centre of my iPad screen and so making anything of length almost impossible for me to create because the keyboard is covering up my typing. How do I repostion the keyboard to be at the bottom of my screen? Thank you for any help you might be able to give me.

iPad, iOS 8.0.2

With the keyboard open, press and hold on the right margin (or left one) and drag to the bottom. That should do it.
