Keep audio through iPad while projecting using Digital AV adapter

I havei have an iPad Pro and a digital av adapter to connect HDMI to a Dell mini projector. The video is working fine, b/it the audio is playing out of the tiny speaker in the projector instead pof my iPad. Is it possible to keep audio coming out of the iPad pro speakers?

Using iPad audio when connected to an external screen Hello beautiful community, So am using an ipad pro 11 inch and I work with a lot of ppt presentations. So i bought a usb c hub which gives me HDMI, VGA, ethernet, usb 3 and 3.5mm audio. When i connect my ipad to the hub, or to the HDMI cable - i have the official Apple adapter as well - the audio control from my ipad becomes disabled, and the sound is automatically routed to the projector sound output which is usually very low. iPad Pro USB-C and HDMI sound So I regularly connect my iPad to an external USB-C hub that gives me a bunch of stuff including an HDMI output for a monitor. Unfortunately, connecting HDMI sends audio there but I don't want that, I just want the internal speakers to still output. I know I can connect it to an external bluetooth speaker or headphones but I just want the speakers to work. How can I accomplish this?

No.

The digital AV adapter ( Audio AND Video, remember ) routes both audio and video through the adapter and HDMI cable connection.

There is no way to circumvent this.

You can't even switch to using a Bluetooth speaker, either.
