change email for apple/itune id
I want to change the gmail address associated with my apple id and itunes (they are the same). Is it possible to do that without loosing my contacts, photos, apps etc

If you do a name change, you will maintain access to your data/purchases.
What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support I suggest doing this before you change your Apple ID or password.
