itunes 12.8.0.150 don't sync music to iphone

After upgrading itunes to 12.8.0.150 on macOS 10.13.6, syncing music to iphone SE (iOS 11.4.1) has stopped. When I select a playlist to sync, sync process gets over very quickly. iTunes shows songs on my device but these are actually not there. Music app in Iphone shows no content.

iTunes is able to sync photos properly though.

I have tried resetting my phone(Erase content and settings) and restarting mac but did not work.a

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

So issue seems to be generic not specific to itunes 12.8.0.150. I had to factory reset my iphone and instead of restoring from iCloud, I set it up as new phone. After this, it started working again.
