Error message on "Verify Certificate"

Hi all,

I'm on Mac Air, macOS High Sierra, I've received a "Verify Certificate" alert that "my calendar can't verify identity of server "p54-caldav.icloud.com", that the certificate is invalid and I could be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "p54-caldav.icloud.com" which could put my confidential information at risk."

I've done a deep system scan using Bitdefender for virus, found nothing. Is this something I should be concerned about? Please advise what should I do to troubleshoot.

Thank you!

MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

This excellent subject-matter tutorial may explain everything you need to know.

This other excellent tutorial demonstrates how to find out the certificate details including the specific validity problem. Assuming the certificate and its email address are legit, you might be able to find out more from the admin of record by email.

Finally, if the certificate is obviously suspicious like the one shown in this article, never continue with it nor trust it and, in fact, delete it.
