Can't Drag Between Browser and Timeline

Not sure what happened, but I can no longer drag anything between my browser and timeline, either clips or effects. I can open the clip in the viewer and drag it from the viewer to the timeline but not directly from the browser to the Timeline. Effects I can copy and paste them but also can not drag from browser to timeline!
Anyone know how to fix?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Hello and welcome to the forum--

Whenever I lose the ability to do something in FCP that I've been able to do in the past I trash the prefs. and repair permissions. Check this out: http://www.pistolerapost2.com/fcprescue. Select the appropriate version, run it, and see if it takes care of your problem. Very painless and has solved a lot of problems for me.
