filter artist from albums by various artist

When filtering my iTunes library by artist it doesn't display all songs by that artist i have in my library. instead they are grouped in 'various artist'. How can I filter artist when my albums are each various artist i.e NOW THATs WHAT I CALL MUSIC.

Sorry that sounds very confusing.

example:

I want to play all songs by ED SHEERAN from my collection of NOW THATS WHAT I CALL MUSIC

I love to shuffle through an artist's entire collection of music while listening on my MacBook Pro. I'd be happy to help out.

In this situation, I'd recommend editing the song or artist information to change where the song is coming from. For instance, the song from the "Now That's What I Call Music'' collection is in various artists because it has more than just Ed Sheeran. You can change the song information to filter the song into Ed Sheeran's collection by doing these steps:

iTunes for Mac: Edit song and CD information
