My Macbook Pro 13inch Mid 2012 keeps ejecting disks. Why? Help!

Hi Apple Community

Just like the post says I can't seem to run a CD/disk before MBP ejects it out, doesn't even last 6 seconds before it say 'nope get out'.

This includes Music CD, CD-ROM and Movie DVD.

All information I've gotten has not worked out:

  • Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) - Failed (twice to make sure).
  • Insert disk in Safe Mode - Failed - ejected.
  • Used MacOS Recovery/utilities - Failed - ejected.

All used with different types of disc.

Before I forget, this Macbook Pro was checked over (disk drive worked before and after) at a previous repair for hard drive cable replacement service at My Local Apple Genius Bar.

Now I turn to you folks before I go to repair center for them to look for an answer.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Much appreciated

Hello noneuserofbooks,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to have discs inserted into the SuperDrive on your MacBook Pro, as they are unexpectedly ejected after a couple of seconds. Since you have already tried the troubleshooting steps in this Apple resource, your next step is to go to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have your MacBook Pro inspected further.

Get help with the slot-loading SuperDrive on your Mac computer
Apple - Find Locations - Country Selector

Cheers!
