Hello Ravienraj,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that one of the buttons on your iPhone appears to be stuck after removing your case. It's important that your buttons and switches work properly, and I would be happy to point you towards a resolution.

Here's a resource that can help:

About the buttons and switches on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Start by seeing if there's a change after cleaning any debris or dirt around the button with a soft cloth. If the button still appears to be stuck, Contact Apple Support to explore service options using the link in this section:

What to do if a button or switch isn't working

  1. Restart your device. If you can't restart your device, try to force restart it.
  2. Remove any protective films and cases that might block the button or switch.
  3. Check for debris or dirt around the button or switch, and clean with a soft cloth.

If you need help with Touch ID, learn what to do.

If the button or switch still isn't working, is damaged, or works intermittently, you might need to set up service for your device. Contact Apple Support, then follow the steps to complete your service request.

Take care!

I had my new (5 mo old) Iphone 8plus in a purse compartment with a pen and nothing else. It has a case, but it did not cover the button. The button stopped working and upon further inspection, you could see a pin-like poke on the edge of the button where it met the glass. All I can surmise is that the pen must have leaned against the "very fragile" button and caused the damage. I'm very careful with my phones and the purse was never on the ground. I still can't figure out how the pen was able to exert enough pressure to damage the button, except for the fact that the button is hyper-fragile. I did read somewhere that they were having issues with the buttons "frequently breaking /not working " on the 8's. I mentioned this, but Apple is still charging me $187 to have it fixed. It was a gift and sadly, insurance was not purchased, and because it is not a software issue, the one yr warranty doesn't apply. Now I need to find another case that covers the button and still allows it to work properly.
