Open With, removing multiple versions of apps

I tried using the instructions to do this by putting the phrase in the terminal hitting return and restatrting. This did NOT work, i'm in 10.13.6 and have multiple versions of multiple apps I need to remove. Anyone?

No need to manipulate .plist files.

Code: (copy/paste into Terminal, and then press return)

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -seed -domain local -domain system -domain user

This will take 1 - 2 seconds to run and a new Terminal prompt will appear. You are done, and the Open with menu should be cleaned up.

Don't know if I'm anal today but I tried following the instructions for clearing the open with menu ( remove duplicates) when I use the terminal instructions. After pasting the text in do I hit return after?

Then I tried goong into the prefs and renaming the .plist file but I have more than one and do not want to change anything without checking. Screenshot of that and the screenshot of my open with menu below.

In the Open with menu you can see there are more than 1 version of alot of apps. Just want to make sure I'm on the same page with this.

Can someone give me a bit more detail as I still have all those multiple versions of apps which I want to remove and just have the newest app.
