Problem on logout with windows roaming profiles over SMB

Dear all,

I have a problem with our windows roaming-profiles since 10.4.8...

When a logout is done on a windows client (xp pro sp1, xp pro sp2 and 2000), a few .tmp (coming from the desktop, an application,...) files cannot be written on the SMB volume of our Mac os X 10.4.8 server (G5). This error prevents the profile from being properly updated.

If I host the roaming profile on a windows 2003 server, the problem is solved.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to discussions!

On first glance, you're talking about dot tmp files. Dot anything files are hidden files in Unix, and if memory serves correct, must be specifically enabled in the smb configuration.
