Am I able to charge a series 2 Apple Watch with a series 3 charger? It won’t cause any damage to the battery?

No problem whatsoever. Any power supply with a USB socket for the cable will charge your watch, and the magnetic cables are common for all current models of Apple Watch. Of course Apple chargers are preferred and known quality but all reputable brand name USB chargers have a standard 5v output. Even the charger milliAmp rating on the label is only the maximum output it can support, and your Apple Watch has a very low demand.
