Homepod not able to control homekit with Hue lights?

My homepod seems to "think" it's controlling my homekit enabled hue lights, but alas it is not. For example, when I ask for a request "Turn on the lights in the bedroom" Siri answers me with, "Done." But the lights in the bedroom remain on. When I ask through my phone, the requests are correctly executed. Before I installed the Hue lights, I was able to successfully make requests on either my homepod or iphone.

I should note I have an Apple TV also setup on my network.

This seems like it might be a bug between Apple Homekit and Hue lights. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone found a solution? Is this on Apple's radar screen - how can we catch their attention to get help?
