An unknown error occurred (9).

I've an iPhone 6 which stopped working overnight. I was on to Apple Support who were very helpful and talked me through both an update and a restore (I connected the phone through my MacBook). Neither worked and the error message reads "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)." More info button wasn't helpful. I've the latest version of iTunes and am only using genuine Apple charging cables (I've tried more than one so that isn't the issue either).

Any suggestions please?

Read this:

If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iOS device - Apple Support

If you get no help, make an appointment at your most convenient Apple Store and explain your problem. They will help you: Apple - Find Locations - Location Selector
