Issues with USB playing music in car

I recently just bought an iPhone X (used to have an iPhone 6s) and it is not allowing me to play music in my truck. I drive a 2010 Chevy Silverado and when I plug my phone in it reads USB device connecting and the song titles pop up but it only plays through the speakers on my phone. I have tried different apps and USB cords to connect it but nothing seems to work. I know it isn’t my truck because it was working fine with iPhone 6s just a few days ago. Anyone having similar issues or know what to do to fix this? I feel like it has to be something with the my new phone.
