When I first clicked on the wand, I expected to be able to move it and click on the background I wanted to clear. But when I clicked on the wand, nothing changed and I could not move it. But then I discovered that clicking on the wand activated it, and I then clicked on the area I wanted to remove and hit the delete key. - I then had the clear background in this image.
Don't mind me. I never use Preview for editing so I didn't have the Markup Toolbar open (smacks self). Back to the problem at hand. My Magic wand is select-able and moves and works so I'm not sure what the OP's problem might be.
I wasn't aware Preview had a Magic Wand.
I'm glad you got it working and as I mentioned it worked for me. You originally said you couldn't select activate it or move it. What changed?
I think I understand. You thought the Wand could be dragged out of the Toolbar. Glad you got it sorted.
