I created a screenshot jpeg, but apparently, this forum doesn't allow attachments.

Start a reply and then click the camera icon in the menu bar. That will allow you to select and add your screen shot in a reply. The other option is to drag and drop it into a reply. Copy and paste doesn't work.

User uploaded file

When you were looking for the com.apple.Safari/Cache.db, were you in your user folder Library or the hard drive level Library? You need to be in your user Library.

Delete all cached content

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sharing.
  2. Select Content Caching, then click Options.
  3. Click Reset, then click Reset again to verify the request.

It occurs to me that you might want to clear the Safari cache, not the computer cache. In that case:

  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
  2. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data....
  3. Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears.

Quit Safari. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash. Reopen Safari and test.

Thanks, but "Content Caching" is not an option under "Sharing" with the OS I'm running (El Capitan).

I was trying to figure out how to clear cache for Safari, but since it doesn't say that it's deleting the cache in the "Clear History" menu, I figured that it was leaving the cache intact. I checked the "Cache" folder, and there is no "com.apple.Safari/Cache.db" file in there, so clearly, what I've been doing is working. Thanks very much for all of the replies!
