Why isn't night shift working?

I use an early 2015 retina macbook pro and have high sierra downloaded. My night shift is always turning on and off if I move my cursor around, for example, when I'm watching youtube and I move my cursor, it just turns off. Help?

Night Shift Won't Turn On Night shift shows that it's on in the Control Center but the screen doesn't change it stays in day setting. I've tried turning it on/off, restarting my macbook, Location services and access to it, and time zone settings. Any idea what's going on? Night Shift Does not Automatically Shift On my 2020 M1 Macbook Pro 13, running 11.5.2, Night Shift never came on and off automatically. Either by custom schedule or sun rise to sun set. When its on, it never turns off. What am I missing. Thank you
