Phone stuck in headphone mode

My phone is stuck in headphone mode. I did not get it wet, and have tried restarting it, soft shut down, cleaning with cover off.. everything I read; I try!

Pocket lint and dirt are often culprits in this.

Take a wooden toothpick and gently dig around in the headphone jack hole to remove the debris. Do not use a metal paperclip or cotton q-tip. (Metal will damage the insides; cotton will clutter it up even more.)

It couldn't hurt to try.
