See Gary Scotland's post for the same result, without the PDF to Keynote requirement that specifies a LaTeX generated PDF using specific LaTeX packages for PDF creation. Most people reading here are not at University, or have an interest in installing the 5GB MacTex installation.
No.
PDF is a final format that is not conveniently organized internally as its displayed content would suggest. Keynote document formats are an obfuscated Apple secret that they don't share. There is no conversion method from PDF to Keynote.
With the right tool, you can separately extract the text and images from a PDF, and then manually reconstruct a Keynote presentation from those components.
If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not the free reader), you can export the PDF as a PowerPoint presentation. Then open the PowerPoint from Keynote and re-save it as a Keynote doc. This way the PDF becomes full editable and not just static images.
If you don't have Adobe Acrobat, I think you can get a demo version from Adobe that's good for a week.
Easiest way: using a online tool, such as CleverPDF.
Another solution is to make the conversion in Mac Keynote:
1. Open Keynote app and choose a theme
2. Open PDF files on Mac
3. Drag PDF files to the left side of Keynote app. All Keynote files are listed as thumbnail there.
4. Go to File > Save the Keynote file.
You can try this PDF Converter OCR, it supports OCR and can adjust manually, works for me on PDF to Word and Keynote conversion.
A simple solution that converts each pdf page into a slide is "Pdf to keynote" The result is just an image and it is not editable but you can put anything on top to the image...
I am pretty sure that Latex is not required is just an example (e.g.). You can process ANY pdf. I have used it...

Hi Gary, I know you wrote about it 3 months ago.
Your answer is very helpful and detailed.
I wrote the similar one just for sharing my thoughts.
Hope you can understand it. 😉
