Our school has a BYOD iPad program. We have a student device that will not connect to the teacher's apple classroom. When the student types in the code, they get the following error message.
Both the teacher and student iPad are running iOs 11.4.1 and the teacher has the most recent version of Classroom.
Any suggestions?

Do the BYOD iPads have any type of internet filtering on them? Perhaps the profile on the machine is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled.

Are other BYOD iPads working as expected on your school's guest network?
Does the student device have any VPNs installed?

The other BYOD devices are working as expected on the network.
I will check if there is a VPN on the student device in question.
