i wanted to get Apple Music today and its decided it won't accept my card anymore
i have never had any problems with it this card has been on my account for years
can someone please help; it's a MasterCard so it's the right form of payment and the funds are on there

By 'the funds are on there' I assume that it's a debit card, in which case that might be why it's not accepted, not all seem to still be accepted by iTunes. Try removing the card and adding it back from scratch or try a different card.
For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and therefore the country which is on your iTunes account).
I just find it odd that it's just stopped working now when I've used it for like 7 years
Validation rules aren't fixed,what is or isn't accepted by iTunes can change over time.
Are iTunes gift cards available in your country ? If they are you might be able to use them as your payment method.
