Transfer contacts and calendar to new iPad

On the new iPad these will appear simply by setting up the same email accounts on the new iPad that your contacts and calendar are managed with. If you install the backup from your old iPad, this does not transfer the contacts & calendar but it does set up the accounts for you, and that allows this information to sync with the new iPad.

So backup the old device to iCloud, or to iTunes (recommend that you perform an encrypted backup, just remember the password) and then install the backup onto the new iPad. If you've already set up the new iPad, you would have to restore it and then you'll be prompted to install a prior backup (or set up as new, i.e. no backup).

On iPhone 7 go to iCloud make sure iCloud back up is on Then backup now over your wifi.

Set new ipad up over your wifi when it asks if you want to use iCloud backup Say yes

You can use iPhone backup to get your apps & data on ipad.
