What do I need to connect a USB headset to an iPad Mini 4?

I need to dictate notes into my iPad Mini (IOS 11.4) and bought a VTIN wired USB headset for that purpose. I have an Apple lightning 3.5 mm. headphone jack and thought I could use that, not realizing that I would also need a lightning/USB adapter because the VTIN is meant to use with the USB port on the Macbook.

Can anyone tell me what to buy that would let me use a USB wired headset with an iPad Mini 4? Thanks so much for any help out there! (Especially for fast help! :)

USB headsets will not work with iDevices,

So, you need to find something that either uses the iPad headphone jack or direct from tge Lightning connector.

A headset audio speaker/mic combo for iDevices can be pricey.
