How to prevent dictation to insert space?

I'm not sure whether there is a supporting community in different language. I'm using dictation on a daily basis for my work. I'm a broadcaster and I write scripts using dictation. The problem is I mostly use Thai language. At the beginning it worked quite OK, but suddenly dictation started to insert space every time I pause.

In Thai language, there is no space between words until the end of the sentence. The space is used instead of fullstop (or period). This result in me having to say the full sentence before I can pause, or else go back and use keyboard to delete the space every time I stop. This doesn't happen if I use dictation on iPad or iPhone.

Dear Sterling r,
Thank you for your kind attention on my question. I do use enhance dictation already, and select the Thai language. I go into the Text tab on the keyboard and realise that the capitalise and add full stop with double space have not been checked prior, and also I have unchecked the correct spelling automatically, as well as use smart quotes and dashes, but going back to using mail, the dictation still inserts space every time I stop.

Still not solving the problem.

I realise though that when I use dictation on are the application like Line, the system doesn't insert space when I stop. I now use dictation on this program, and it doesn't insert space I stop as well. But for English, every time I stop, the new word become capitalised. It could have been applications setting?

Sometimes, it becomes quite frustrating.I really think there should be a function where you so can go in there and change things in dictation. Like frequently misspelling, otherwise it's very useful tool.

I will not changeThe wayThe dictationWork. And it came out like this. For this program.

Good afternoon Yotsiri,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you are using the dictation feature on your Mac for writing your scripts. Recently, you have noticed a space is inserted when you pause. The first thing I would suggest is to make sure Enhanced Dictation is enabled on your Mac in the System Preferences > Keyboard > Dictation tab. While in the settings, choose the Text tab and remove the checkmarks for spelling, capitalization and adding a period as well.
Long pauses while dictating can result in unwanted spaces, commas, or periods being added. There is a "No Space On" command that you can choose for a sequence of words, but you can't choose this setting for an entire document.
So, if enabling the Enhanced Dictation doesn't help, I would suggest perhaps changing the dictation shortcut to an easy key on your keyboard (for example, I use F19 which is in the upper-right corner of my numeric keyboard). If you find that you need more time to collect your thoughts, just press the dictation shortcut key, and then press again when you are ready to continue dictating. That might be easier than hovering over the "backspace" key to remove an inserted space.
As you know, dictating is much faster than typing. It just takes a little time to get into the "rhythm" of when to pause, and when to stop dictating in order to achieve the results you want.
Use your voice to enter text on your Mac
Enjoy your day!
