Does the I phone back up to the cloud quicker if it’s conected to a power source than if it’s not or is it the same

It should be pretty much the same. However, that is if you are referring to a manual backup to iCloud. Either way it needs to be via wi-fi, and if you are talking about the automatic backup, that is only done when the device is connected to wi-fi and power, and the screen is locked.
