Custom Template at top of Pages list

I might expect that if I had a custom template for Pages, that it would appear at the top of the list of templates for a new Pages document. But no, the custom templates appear below screens (on my 13" Air) full of standard templates.

Is there a way I can either get my custom templates to appear at the top, or remove the standard templates so that I don't have to page down 10 pages to get what I want?

You do not need to scrounge through your folders, drag the templates folder into your Sidebar, or drag it to your Windows top bar.

You do not have to keep your templates in the Template Chooser.

Save your templates to an organised folder of your own choosing in Finder.

If you save them as ordinary .pages documents and lock them in Finder, you get the advantages of being easily able to back them up, preview them with very large icons or with QuickView and dupe them as needed.
