Why does my wifi work only in recovery mode?

I tried to download a ethernet adapter and my wifi stopped working? I have tried all usual fixes and it will not work. Apple test shows no problems either.

MacBook Air, iOS 11.4.1

When you boot into Recovery or Safe mode, the kernel drivers for a non-Apple Wi-Fi adapter do not load, thus preventing conflict with the built-in Apple Wi-Fi.

You will have to figure out how to completely remove that software that you downloaded, and hope it did not step on any existing Apple software in the process. Check with the author of that software for complete removal instructions.
